Knoxville Cares Coalition is based in Knoxville, Tennessee. The mission of Knoxville Cares is to promote unity and cohesiveness in our diverse gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual, HIV+ and supportive community by enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in providing positive leadership. Our goals are development of this positive leadership, community training and education, HIV prevention and support for HIV/AIDS care, and working on fulfilling many relevant areas of interest and need for GLBT and HIV+ people in our community. There is no cost to participate in Knoxville Cares. Everyone interested is welcome!

You think you know, but you have no idea

 

 Knoxville Cares' Diversity Trunk can be used by anyone who is interested in raising awareness about GLBT issues and HIV/AIDS in their community. The trunk is considered an excellent educational tool and can be used in the community to promote diversity and healthy sexual choices. The Diversity Trunk includes various books, videos, brochures and condoms. Some materials are available in Spanish.

Monday Gay Mens Group

Meets each Monday 7:30-9:00 pm

at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Church

2931 Kingston Pike, Knoxville

Facilitated discussions on topics and issues relevant to local gay men in a safe and open place. The group is open to anyone to drop in each week, no long term commitment is required to join. Knoxville area Gay/Lesbian and PFLAG Helpline operates 7-11 pm nightly (staff permitting) at 865-531-2539. This is a listening post for those who want to talk or get referrals to local organizations, contacts and services.
